Rafael Van Der Vaart claims everyone at Tottenham loves Emmanuel Adebayor and he has urged the club to do everything to keep him.
The Togo striker is on loan at the club from Manchester City until the end of the season but many players and fans alike think Spurs should do all they can to keep him.
"He is a great player for us, works his socks off and we love him here," said Van der Vaart. "He played for Real Madrid, Arsenal and City and I was surprised he came but I hope he stays. "He is a top striker, one of the best I've played with. "I played with Ruud van Nistelrooy, (with Real Madrid and Holland) he was fantastic."
His vast wages have always been a stumbling block though, he is said to be on £170,000 a week with two years left to run on the deal he has at City. Spurs were ready to offer £100,000 a week plus a £4m signing on fee, but this was thought not to be enough and now Spurs are ready to turn their attentions elsewhere.
